Built for Indian weekends

Four things an Indian wedding venue asks of software

A UK event platform has no reason to model these. An Indian hall cannot run without them.

Multi-day wedding weekends

A sangeet, a wedding and a reception book as slots under one family, each with its own hall and time.

GST on the advance

A token received by UPI gets a receipt voucher with tax worked out, and the final invoice adjusts it.

Station-wise kitchen sheets

Quantities are grouped by tandoor, halwai and chaat, with Jain counters marked, not by a single menu list.

Tally-ready books

A monthly export gives your accountant sales, tax and receivables without retyping invoices.

Fango is British event software: what that means for an Indian venue

Fango is a Yorkshire-based technology company. Its site describes one platform for ticketing, wedding management, table planning and food and drink pre-ordering, and lists hotels, wedding venues, racecourses, stadia and restaurants among its customers, all described as venues across the UK. There is no mention of India or GST on the pages we read. Search demand for 'fango alternative' in India is close to zero, so this page mostly serves someone who found the name through a UK listing and wants to know whether it fits a hall in Pune or Lucknow. The short answer is that it is built for another country's rules, and the honest alternative for an Indian venue is any tool built around Indian tax and event habits, of which Kaliquid is one.

Give the product its due. From its own pages: online reservations and deposits at any hour, drag-and-drop table plans, real-time allergen conflict detection, and automated spreadsheets and place cards. For a UK wedding venue serving a seated three-course dinner to 120 people, allergen flags matter legally and the seating plan is the guest's main worry. If you run a venue like that in the UK, Fango is a specialist and belongs on your list. Its pricing is bespoke, based on average ticket price, number of events and volume processed, with no public rate card, so there is nothing to compare with in rupees.

Now put an Indian wedding weekend through the same lens. A family books your hall for a sangeet on Thursday evening, the wedding on Friday morning and the reception on Friday night. Rent is ₹1,20,000 a slot, ₹3,60,000 for the three. Hall rent is taxed at 18%, so ₹64,800 of GST and ₹4,24,800 in all. A ₹1,00,000 token arrives by UPI, and tax on an advance is due when you receive it: if the token includes GST, that is ₹1,00,000 × 18 ÷ 118, or ₹15,254, and the receipt voucher is adjusted on the final invoice. The family may bring its own caterer, so food is not on your bill at all, or you supply the food and the hall-and-food package is billed at 5%. UK event software has no reason to model any of this, and the pages we read do not mention it.

Dietary handling differs too. In the UK the driver is allergen law, so software flags nuts and gluten per guest. At an Indian wedding the sorting is by Jain, vegetarian and non-vegetarian counters and by station: tandoor, halwai, chaat. Kaliquid's kitchen sheets are organised by station with Jain counters marked, and it has a stage and seating planner tool, but it does not claim to match the full drag-and-drop table design or ticketing that Fango lists. If your revenue comes from sold-out ticketed events, that is Fango's home ground.

If you are choosing for an Indian venue, start with the questions, not a vendor. The Word document on this page lists 21 of them, grouped by fit for India, calendar, kitchen, payments, data and price, each with what a good answer sounds like and what should worry you. Send it to every vendor, Kaliquid included, and score the replies. Where a vendor cannot answer the GST questions in writing, the demo is not worth an hour of your time.

Frequently Asked Questions: fango alternative banquet software

Everything you need to know about fango alternative banquet software for Indian venue, banquet, and catering operations.

The Fango pages we read in September 2026 describe venues across the UK and do not mention India, GST or Indian payment methods. That does not prove it will not take an Indian customer, but nothing public says it supports one. Ask in writing whether it onboards Indian businesses, how GST invoices and advance receipts would work, and who supports you in Indian hours, before you invest time in a demo.
